Tie Rods For A 3" Narrowed Bj Beam?

hey everyone..

Im just looking for some quick help here..i would check myself but my car is not at home and i need to get these cut tonight..for first thing tommrow.

My Car has a 3\" narrowed BJ beam with Cast drop spindles..
The car came with this beam when i bought it..and the POS tie rods that are in it now..they are hooped..and i want to make sure i cut these new ones down the right length..

my long tie rod is 23 1/4\" long with no tie rod ends..the left hand thread end has a gromet for a steering damper..

My short tie rod is 9\" long with no ends in place.

if anyone knows what length i should cut these down to please let me know!

so i have been told by some ppl to cut them down 1\" per rod..for a totaly of 2\" shorter than stock on a 3\" narrowed beam...and others have told me just to cut them 1.5\" per rod..so 3\" narrowed..same as the beam..im sure both will work.. but whats the right way to do it?

For a 3 inch narrowed beam, I would cut one and a half inches (1.5\") off of each tie rod. Cut it off of the end that has the right hand thread. The end you cut will have to be rethreaded deeper.

i have the RHT tap..so it should be no prob..

Well.. i choped 1.25\" off the end..re taped..installing all new front end parts in a few hours..gonna take the turbo bug out for a snow plow run hehe need to see if i can dig up some 4-5 lug adaptors and tear the rear fenders off the car and slap on my 31x12.5 super swamper boggers..

LOL it would be a turbo charged snow blower.
