Just got my new to me 75 fuel injected bug home.Don't know anything about injection.It is clearly missing some vacuum lines .Seems to idle kinda ok some times fast,stalls after it warms up.It sat for a number of years so who know if the gas was still good replaced it today.

My first beetle was a 75 standard (purchased it in 1989) it was originally Injected and I opted to go the carb route. It was an easy conversion and I plan on doing it the the 79 vert I have in my garage if I keep it.

Someone told me I would have to change the fan shroud and heads I don't get why?

Fan shroud has a different hole location for the throttle cable, not an issue if you take it off to drill the new holes (dangerously close to the oil cooler) heads will work fine but have smaller diameter exhaust valves, depends what kind of performance you have in mind. The only other issue is no fuel pump on case.

I have a set of 36 dells i was going to put on probably a electric fuel pump and pressure reg.Later will buy a Airspeed long block 1776-1914 for more power

If you get a rotory style pump they are internally reg'd to 3psi and you won't need a pressure reg.
