Thanks PointBlank for your support there...I feel the price is fair and everything is negotiable.

Someone has asked me if I listed this car in the Buy/Sell a few weeks back.   The answer is no.  This is first time that this car has ever been listed.  It was a difficult decision to make.

A bit of history about this car...

Built in Edmonton by my late-husband who was a member of the AirRider's VW Club.  He restored and took very good care of this car and was a big-time VW enthusiast.  He passed away 2 1/2 years ago and I decided to keep the car and maintain it.  I've had it serviced every year at Lou's Workshop in North Vancouver and it has been stored underground or covered ever since.  I usually insure it in the summer, but realized that last summer I hardly drove it.  It's a difficult decision to sell it, but I am only one person and I have a car that I drive year-round.  I want this car to go to a good home and I hope you can understand the reason why.

It runs great! Started it up the other day and took it for a burn.  Breaks were good, tight suspension, sounds and feels terrific.

I really do love this car, for so many reasons. It's fun to drive...strangers comment all the time and it's a car that gets a lot of attention on the road.  It handles well on corners, highways etc.  A few years ago, I had seatbelts installed, a horn installed (needed to for Insurance purposes), everything was brought up to speed and it runs like a charm.

I'm only selling it because I'm finding it difficult to maintain two cars and parking is always an adventure.  I live in the Kits area.

So again....serious offers/best offers only please.

Thanks!

VW Gal,
I think you are in the range that car is worth. As my Dad always said " There is an ass for every seat"
I think I would Samba it first before you  lowered the price. Problem is most people can take 2 or 3 years to put $13,500 into thier cars but to come up with it in one shot can be tuff. and to get a bank loan for a 60's Beetle....

Hi everybody, Like VW Gal say's this car is in excellent condition. Back when it was in Edmonton my Business serviced this car and I am well aware of it's condition and value.  After 28 years in the VW business I have seen few cars assembled to this quality of detail and kept that way. If you want to own a awesome Beetle this is the one to Buy.  You won't be needing to change a thing, it's really a great car.
Good luck VW Gal.  Hi from all of us back here!!!

I went to get a car loan a few years back and the bank wouldn't finance an older car, got to talking to some people and apparently it's really hard to get a loan for anything over 10 years(magic #) old. So a week later went back into the same bank, told a couple little fibs about the "newer" car I needed $5000 for and no questions asked!!! :D approved   oh ya by the way VWGAL gotta say sweet car, really like the color!!

p.s. none of you better work at the royal bank

i took out a loan on the 57 it was no big deal,i guess it all comes down to credit, equity ect..i don't work for a bank so i could not tell you exactly.

vwgal i think you have a nice car but may be a bit overpriced search the samba for cars in the 10,000 dollar range.also i think some new pictures would do it a world of good if shot in the sun:) (if you can ever find that here:)

good luck with the sale

Russ

Loans are based on collateral and credit ratings - Interesting stuff is to look up your rating via equifax, I looked up mine a while back and there was negative ratings from a "pre-approved" citibank visa which I never even applied for - had that removed asap.

It's a smart 25 dollars to spend once or so a year to make sure your doing well in the eyes of the banks.
