A friend of mine has decided to sell his 1968 Single Cab. Same owner the last 30 years, approx 120k original miles, on body, newer good running dual port. Looks nice from the curb, could use some easily repaired corrosion work down the road but a very solid, driveable truck. Rear bed near perfect shape, new master cylinder and recent brake work, original radio and gas heater. All original BC vehicle. He was going to drive it to the Great Canadian with a for sale sign, but I've convinced him to put it on Airspeed first. He'd like $3500 with engine or $2500 without. Give him a call at 604-948-4250 to check it out, no pics or email as he's not too computer literate! It's in his garage in tssawassen and might hit craigslist or the samba next. A great price on a cool truck.

I told him that, I've seen the truck and you could get in and drive no problem for a long time. It ran great and looks nice. Showroom no, but it's nearly 40 years old. It's spent a lot of its life in a covered carport or garage and he doesn't drive it that much. It might be a space issue for him and he was hoping to not have to sell it on the samba to the states. I think whoever picks it up will be really happy with the deal.

Selling anything with a pickup body style into the U.S. attracts a 25% import duty on the U.S. side regardless of whether or not it is vintage, collector, or similar. Makes it tough right now to sell these to the U.S. I found this out the hard way...

I talked to the owner today, and he had been down in point roberts at his cabin and had not been checking his messages. SOmeone did try to get to see it but got stopped at the border. It's registered in BC but he's got it in storage in his garage down there. I guess he hasn't got plates on it yet or a permit to drive it yet.... far as I know it hasn;t been seen yet....

Ya, i've called him twice and no reply yet. Hopefully he calls me when he gets back....i'm serious about the truck.....been wanting something like this for quite some time.

I will post some pics when they are finished uploading. Went to see it today. Looks like it is well maintained, but does have a fair bit of rust. IMHO a truck to be driven and enjoyed as is - not a restoration candidate unless your pockets are deep or you have mad welding skills. I find those the hardest to put a value on. Will put up a link to the pics in a bit. Most panels need rust repair to some degree except the nose is very solid. Did not look at the bottoms of the doors or in the treasure chest area. Bottoms of the gates have rust. Very typical rust for BC. Brett is a super nice guy.
