Aloha,

I just read the August 2003 issue of VWTrends. The cover car, that purple monster of an Oval with a SBC wedged in the front has a set of front wheels called ET3 10-spoke gassers. Anyone ever hear of these or know where you can get a set? They are wicked lookin'.

My room mate Brad Purser has a set on his 56 beetle, he needed to do a lot of work to make them fit. 4 narrowed beam, chevy disc brakes etc. They look killer and set his car apart from the rest.

If they were a tight fit on that Beetle, I suppose they wouldn't have a chance of fitting on a Ghia. Brad's Bug looks pretty killer with those rims, though.

So, are these wheels one of those \"once in a lifetime\" type of finds, or is there a source for them?

Hey Joel here are some pics of my car with 10 spoke ET-III's
you can only get them at Team III wheels.

unfortunatley they do not make the 4\" wide wheels anymore.

Thanks for the link. Those wheels look pretty sweet.

Too bad they don't make the 4\" anymore. Do you think the 6\" rim would fit under a Beetle's or a Ghia's front fenders?

Hey Joel, anything is possible. It would definatley depend on your brake and spindle choice. And would reqiure an excessive amount of narrowing. It is a lot of work but if it is what you want then it's always worth it. I'll try to post some pics of my beam to give you an idea of what I did.

Hey Brad,

Wow...that's what I call a narrowed beam. Did you fabricate the shock mount yourself? How difficult was it to figure out the steering geometry for that thing? Are you using a stock steering knuckle? How's the turning radius?

I have to admit that that sort of customization is out of my league (well...at least for the time being, since I don't have the tools to do it).
