Last night was spent measuring and cutting the eng bay for a test fit of the 911 eng. In the first photo you can see the tin that slants down from the outer frame rail, this must be removed.  A new eng seal channel will be welded into place so that a rubber beetle eng seal can be used. The stock air cleaner mount also needed to be removed.

After a hour or so this is what was removed, both drivers and pass side eng compartment tin will be discarded.

Here is a shot of the eng compartment (drivers side) with the tin removed. The Gas heater may have to go to make room for other eng components.

Next i placed the motor into the eng compartment to get a better idea of what will need to be trimmed to get a final fit. The motor is sitting on a angle due to some tin touching the rear mount area. This was corrected by removing a small piece of tin that will be trimmed later.
You can see from this shot just how close the eng comes to the frame rail.

The last pic shows the eng in it's place, this just gives a idea of where it will sit and how much i will need to trim from the rear apron, etc. It will be some time before the eng is actualy bolted into place, for now it will be in and out while the oil tank, exhaust and other things are built.
