Greetings From B.waz
« on: September 01, 2004, 03:47:52 PM »
hey all,
thought i'd put my two cents worth just incase anyone reads this! I'm a first time caller, long time listener.... been in VW's since birth, although not born in one! (almost) At last count, over 30 vw's through my time, highlites being a late 52 split,  a 55 standard, 55 deluxe, 57 deluxe, 61 convert, 62 convert, 62 ragtop, 63, 2x66's, a 2x67's, 69, 68 baja, 71, 2x75 beetles, 75 super, 67 dormobile, 67 bus, 77 westy, 85 west etc. etc. Currently a 92 jetta and 91 golf as transportation. Started the Vintage VW Club while in edmonton in the early 80's with Rick Herity and got the original seattle saturday vintage meet off the ground at Bill Diereckx parking lot. There was a need for something for us canadians to do on the saturday before the drags at S.I.R. on the sunday, so we started the Vintage Meet. Obviously it's gone through a few changes over the years! I sold my split to Dana Craighead in the 90's as I had been layed off from work and that damn mortgage got in the way. As always, should have kept it somehow and sorry i let it go. It's actually in florida now...    http://www.oldbug.com/52bb.htm is the old for sale ad for it. Tried to track it down but without any luck.
I owed the first 2000 New Beetle Turbo from wetmore in west van, and after being hit and run one night on the 2nd narrows, it was sold as scrap and was rebuilt and probably on the road right now in Langley!
Just finishing my new 3 bay garage and trying to decide what kind of project I'd like to do with my 12 and 9 year old sons! Old bug, thing, 67 convert???? Not sure yet, we'll see what comes along. I'm in north Van and have to get out to langley more often!
thanks for the rant.

the garage is like the pne... people come by to look in envy :)  I haven't put any cars in it yet as I want to seal the floor! The cars will be in there as soon as our rains kick in! Now the tough part of trying to organize where everything is going to go! Thanks for the welcomes!

ah, just like school... the bad influence is the one to get blamed for everything but knows the most and is often the most interesting! Looking forward to meeting you!
