Honeyman State Park, not all year access, but you can camp there then get up early and go to day area for access

Why not go a bit more south and camp in Winchester bay ? Florence is boring with a capital B. Well worth the extra few minuets drive.

absolutely there are 4 camp areas with access but some are better than others for a buggy. when you turn off highway 101 you want the last turn before heading up the hill out of Winchester (don't blink you will miss it)then that road will take you past all the camping and end up at the day use area which is as far as you can go. The first 2 camp areas are against the rock face to the left right by the harbor and while nice enough it is about a km to get to the sand on a rocky gravel dirt shoulder along the road - not the nicest on paddles if you ask me. then around the next bend there is a private run campsite Discovery Point Resort with cabins if you want with a part store / fix it shop - mostly quad stuff. then further down the road another km to the right is the best camp area as it is close to the sand and has large pull through spots - not much grass though. Winchester is nice and wide open with "bigger" dunes than down south and is generally where most buggy guys go. Check out buggyfreaks.com the annual bash at the bay is held in Winchester and absolutely worth doing your best to be at. We've been going to the Oregon dunes for 17 years - we're not professionals but we know the basics
