Hi I'm Al and this is my '54 Cdn. std. ragtop named Udo.
I've had it for about fourteen years. Bought it in pieces, painted it green and ivory about twelve years ago and never finished it. It sat for all this time and now I'm going to finally finish it.
It will be resto-cal-look. It was repainted this past year at a local shop, very close to the original Sahara Beige. The shop 'Pinetree Autobody' did a fantastic job! A huge thanks to Neil, Bert and Duffy!
They even let me come in and work on it Wednesday nights and Saturdays. I did mostly sanding and take out that louvered panel behind the oval grill. Great bunch of guys there.
As for the the rest of the car. It will probably have a brick red interior. I got my wide-5 disk brake kits (front and rear) from Air Speed. Terry Hoogstins built my strong freeway flyer tranny. My engine is a Dave Cosgrave built 1835 which will be redone to probably a 2165 or 2275. And the front beam is adjustable and narrowed three inches. For wheels I just can't decide.
Next on the to do list is get the pan finished and on wheels. Completion date is hopefully in time for GCVWS 2007.

After to come...

I got my fenders back from getting clear coated. Pretty happy with them so I thought I'd share.
That's clear over single stage for a base. No buffing or polishing yet.

Looking great Al!  Can't wait to see it in August (no pressure!).
Incidentally, I pulled the motor in the Dormobile today.  Will give it a spruce up, as well as change tranny fluid, do brakes...and maybe try and get the bias plys back on!  We'll see eh.

Thanks for the kind words Paul. There is no pressure, it won't be ready for August. My goal is next August.
Good to hear you're making progress with the Dormobile. Wish I could have been there. I tried to pump up those bias plies but the rims were too rusty. They would look cool on there. Lots of tread left. As far as I know they went for one trip to Mexico and back.
