Jim's been busy with the car, so I grabbed some shots:


It's a swing-axle pan converted to IRS with some careful measuring and welding. The custom end plates on the adjustable spring plate has an integral close-fit bronze bearing surface to eliminate bushings.


How beefy can you make a trailing arm?


No way this will ever flex...


Raised transaxle. This is about as unbreakable box as you can buy.


Mocking up the whole assembly to get an idea of dimensions.


You can visualize it, can't you?


The shock mounts will forma an integrated part of the body.


Trailing arms and pan will be powder-coated, of course.


Porsche 930 stub axles will get that power down.


The turbo and intercooler will be in the back seat area.


They don't call him Turbo Jim for nothing.
