1962 Beetle, 1985 Transporter
« on: November 29, 2005, 01:52:40 PM »
my name is Sal
i am an artist, woodworker/cabinetmaker and i like sleeping
ive always been a huge fan...
i hope joining this members forum brings me more knowledge about my interest in these cars!
meeting Geoff at the shows showed me that people can run a shop and be very helpful...it doesnt have to be a pretentious hobby!

ive owned my '62 beetle now for 5 years...its my 4th one since i started this interest.
its all original. im the second owner. i found this dream car that ive always been looking for a block away from where i lived in east van! it was meant to be!unfortunately it was painted by the original owner in the seventies...
it was used as a Banff park ranger car till the seventies. i have the original keys, manual, tool kits, spare, reciept(bought in Golden B.C.).
its outfitted from the dealer with original oil heater, 6v 2speed heater fan for driver (found a second one for the passenger), canadian acc. S.S. windshield wipers for the snow, 8v single fog lamp, etc. all it needs is paint compounding, repaint the underside, and im thinking of converting it to fresh air!
my single cab is my work truch that ive had for about two years now...2.1L motor, S.S. muffler, OG paint, and a nice patina! strong but ugly! im thinking of giving it up for a van in the spring...

now i need to figure out how to post my images???

Sal,
Welcome aboard.
We actually met I think last summer in the Wendy's parking lot down in Whiterock (south point ). I was driving my black 66.

I remember your car. very cool and original.

See ya soon. Perhaps I'll give you a shout if I need some cabinet work.

Would you be interested in the Rodeo Drive In event I'm trying to put together ?
