Here is a Question regarding narrowed/adjustable beams, that will probably end up in the hands of Geoff, or someone else at Airspeed, but i hopefully will get everyones thoughts while i am at it.
I am just finishing up my project and i don't like the stance of the front of my car afterall, so why not spend some more money (!!??!!?) and get a complete new front end?. SO i am looking for a good narrowed adjustable front beam. I can get CIP parts at a lower cost, that is why i am hesitant to first shop at Airspeed to be told to buy a CIP beam that i can get for cheaper at a different shop here in Ontario.
So here is my question---> I am not looking for a crazy narrowed look, i just want to tuck my wheels in approximately the same as what the lowered (1 notch) rear looks like. So i have noticed that there are 2\" beams availible (airspeed 239.99cnd, cip 199us, cbperformance179us) all for roughly the same price. Then the next step is a 3\" beam. CIP suggest that their 3\" beam (at 339.99us) requires body mods, and Airspeed doesn't mention any mods for their 3\" beam at 399cnd. What is the difference? Does Airspeed's need body mods or is the beam different? I think i would prefer the 3\" but i can't do body mods. why is there a big price jump between these beams for an inch narrower? So what is the difference with all these beams? Is there a better beam out there that i should be shopping for? I want a good one. Also, i don't care that it is painted (acutally perfer it to not be) because i am going send it out for powdercoating. I will end up needing everything between the spindles.
Geoff: Does your brother in-law (or whomever was doing it before) still narrow beams? Should i start with an original one and just narrow it myself (by outsourcing)?
Please discuss.
thanks
