ICBC and custom paint... what is covered?
« on: January 29, 2015, 08:59:41 AM »
Was in an accident.. (the jeep)..  I had all 4 fenders airbrushed by someone who is no longer in business.  Long story short, one front fender is a write off.. the other is scratched badly.  I think I'll be optiing to have them replace both fenders stock.. and deal with the custom work later.

Has anyone had experience with this sort of thing?.. When I can find someone.. will ICBC pay or at least pay in part to have my custom work redone? The valet shop doing the rest of the work didn't really have an answer to this.

I've re-pinstriped more than a few rigs that had custom stripes on them prior to the accident. icbc paid for them

Do you recall how it was billed? Did the customer send in receipts? ... Was it something they gave proof they had paid for previously?

all the trucks I did were damaged on the one side only, and the shop that took the  job on just asked me if I could replicate it, and could I do it for such and such amount.

I sent the shop that got me to do the job a bill, I can only assume it was forwarded to icbc.
