Drop drum or drop disc spindles for brake conversion
« on: December 23, 2014, 02:43:36 AM »
Can any one tell me the difference in bearing race OD for front drum brake drop spindles vs front disc brake drop spindles? Are the drum Bearings larger OD than the Disc. I'm trying to figure out which of the two would be better for 944 brake hub conversion. With the disc I know I'd have to have an adaptor made I'm hoping that if I go to drop drum spindles that I can just machine the hubs to accept the drum inner and outer bearings. As far as I know Lanner uses drop drum spindles, I'd ask him but He seems to be to busy right now to get to answering his mail.

Thanks for any pointers

Just for info's if anyone else is searching or looking at doing Porsche Boxster Brake set up. I did Get my CB performance Drop spindles to work fro the Calliper mounts without any Machining of the Spindle. You Don't need to use Dropped Drum brake Spindles
