Ripped off again
« on: February 15, 2014, 12:42:23 PM »
Fuckers ripped me off again last while I was home. Broke the new locked back door to the garage while I was sleeping. Pretty dejected. Anyhow,  to keep this VW related  keep an eye out for a complete VW motor. I had a complete (minus one Weber carb from the last break in) 1835 on my stand and they took it. Gun metal grey engine tin one 44mm Weber carb. Painted black alternator. Center pull linkage. 041 heads. Probably a long shot but you never know.

That sucks. You can go to london drugs and get a motion detector thats hooked up to a door chime for $80 bucks. If anyone walks past, it sets off a door chime that you can keep in your room while your sleeping. Just a thought.

Dude! seriously? gotta be the same crackheads? Fucking bullshit, I'd go ballistic. ...do these cock suckers not think...."hey what if this guy gets out of bed while I'm jacking his shit and pistol whip me then cut all their fingers off, roll them in hot wax then broken glass and ram them up their degenerate assholes?"
I would be most definitely doing 25 to life if i caught anybody with their infested scabby fingers in my garage!

where do you live again? Walley? this sorta stuff is pretty few and far between on the island....just sayin :c023:

Going to start setting the alarm in the garage at night. That door chime sounds like a good idea too. Not that I could do anything if I caught the fuckers anyway. Probably get stabbed for my trouble. They also took the welding machine I had replaced from the last rip off. It was even locked to my extension ladder with a good thick bike cable lock. They were brazen enough to fire up my mini grinder and cut the cable lock. Last time they left the welding cart. This time they took the whole cart and welder and bottle and used the old cart to dolly the engine around to the waiting vehicle. Didn't hear a thing.

Positive it's the same crackheads. Pretty sure the cops know who it is too but unless they are caught in the act they can't do anything. Even then the cop said they just get a slap on the wrist from the court system. I'm pretty frustrated.  :banghead: :banghead:

Sorry to here about this. At work one time we were having trouble so we put up some fake video cameras up and that helped. What type of welder was it?

Lincoln 140.

This is a terrible thought but seeing that they stole some manifolds and one carb last time and this time came back for the rest of the engine that maybe these are VW guys. Would hate to think it's someone I've had to the house from our good little VW community. What would some random duds due with a VW engine? Then again when your addicted to crack cocaine you'll steal anything for rock. Fuck I'm pissed off! Hate feeling like this.

The second time they came back was because they knew you would have a new welder.  They will come back for your new third welder.

Indeed, now's the time to start planning a welcome (not that I'd ever suggest doing anything you could go to jail for ;) ), having experienced your dilemma myself a few times I know exactly how you feel, I've invested in cameras now so I know who did it even if the law doesn't care or couldn't be bothered.

time to get rid of your current defenses for crime prevention by the sounds of it also I am afraid to say.  Steel fire door that opens outwards with a fortified door frame a extra deep (multiple) deadbolts.  Not some cheap ass wimpy fucking London Drugs squeak box but something that can wake your ass up (since you already slept through the grinder being used) and hopefully wake the neighbours up to.  The more help you can get to tie the fuckers up the better.  And screw the cops.  Just crank up that new torches and burn the assholes with it.  You might even ask the cops to slip you some info on who they think it is...might cost you a few TH donuts but hey info isn't cheap!!

Sure enough. Foot prints around the outside of the garage this morning and cars rifled through.

West Coquitlam. Lived here twelve years without incident. Seems though the last few years people that don't live in the neighborhood have been buying up houses for rentals and crime has risen. How can you keep an eye on your tenants if you don't even live in Canada full time? Might start going to some town hall meetings to express the crime issue. Don't want to move but if it's time it's time.

I did go and recreate the crime and what I thought was pretty secure was actually pretty easy to break in. Just drove a screwdriver into the dead bolt and pried the bolt back into the door. Garage is even alarmed but thought it would be ok if I was home but I guess not. Now setting alarm at night. Live and learn I guess. Just leaves you feeling vulnerable.

get yourself a paintball gun with a big magazine and let her rip!!  Form a neighbourhood watch program or something.  The City/cops are not going to do too much to help unless you have a City council person as a neighbour....

It's not their fault. It's a "disease" apparently.  wtf. My buddy tried the Fort Mac experiment and had to rehab after. Even with what he went through (he's 6'1 and was down to 120lbs) he has no sympathy for addicts. You make your own bed he says.

I like the spiked cookie idea.

Firstly lock/hide your shit better... Good cheap  version of a security system: Go to a kids store and pick your self up a baby monitor(one with good range). Put the receiver in the garage and the speaker by your bed. Guarantee you will know when someone is routin through your shit. Some even have  video now.

This is true, unless there are a lot of reports from your neighbourhood.
Are you reporting these break-ins?  When they get lots of reports, the cops will cruise the area.
