i would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank kevin collingwood (70's Looker here on the asf) for taking the initiative and quarterbacking the entire "get marc & his 51 split to the gcvws 2013" movement.

just so we all know, marc and his 51 cal-look split window go way back to where it all started. the history of the machine and the stories that marc shared with us were amazing. having marc, his wife robin, and that historic red 51 present at this show was very special.

all of this could not have been possible without the effort that kevin made to contact marc and personally invite him to the 2013 gcvws, aswell as go out of his way to greet marc and robin at the hotel, make sure they had everything they needed to enjoy the weekend, personally escort them to & from the show, and help them set up the 51 for display!!

great job!! thanks kevin!!

also, thanks to the dvkk for providing marc with a spot front & centre, and to everyone else that made marc & robin feel welcome. i think they enjoyed our canadian hospitality and hopefully we'll see them again!!

It was great to see that car up here! Anyone who knows me knows I have a weak spot for these early cal look cars and the stories they and their owners carry with them! And the fact that I got the "honour" of polishing those great real brms was simply a highlight in my Vw life!

I'm already thinking of next years show!

Also due to work on Mondays and long border lines Marc and robin wanted to hit the road at a decent time sadly missing the awards, curt from OR. Took marcs award for best cal looker, he wanted me to relay how excited he was when he heard the news and wishes to thank everyone who made him feel very welcomed up in Canada! They will return in the future! He had a great time and enjoyed everyone coming to talk to him, he is always surprised the response it gets cause "it's just a car"

BEST CAR AT THE SHOW, HANDS DOWN!!!

It was a pleasure seeing the car again, but this time not in its home (So-cal), but here in my home town!

Thank you for coming out Mark & family!
