If anybody has some BAD IDF carbs or similar I can modify to use as throttle bodies that would be great. Not looking to pay as much as good working carbs obviously. Cheers.

I have a 57 Oval (everything but bumpers/engine) that I'd make the trip to drop off.  Needs channels and rear 1/4s, but has convertible/semaphore front fenders. Good aprons, 4 tab hood, seats, radio, gas tank.  It's still a project though.

Couple things I'm looking for my 60 bug. Snowflake bulb holders, good small back window rubber that excepts trim, engine bay seal and fire wall seal, mag wheel lug nut set for wide five drums, grey mohair roof liner, and a nice pair of running boards they don't have to be oem.

Yes but 71 has the late t/o bearing to match my pressure plate and no upper bell housing mounts like the 72.

I've also got that 901 gearbox and bug@5speed nose cone conversion kit available.

Price?

What's the condition of the 901 box?
Do you know the condition of the syncros for each gear?
Has it been opened up for any repairs?
Lastly, what's the code stamped into the bottom?
Factory 901 nose cone and Bug@5speed nose cone, or just the Bug@?

Hi Dave.

It came out of a running/driving 912 (64-65 I think) so it has all 5 close ratio gears.  The PO upgraded to a large type 4 for is 912, and swapped gear boxes, as this one was for the original small engine.  The PO is a friend and very meticulous.  I don't think he would have sold me the gearbox if it was a POS.  I haven't opened up the box or done anything but mount the rear Bug@5speed rear mount and swap nosecones (for fitting)

I did pick up some tall 5th (0.72 or 0.77) gears as I was going to use 5 as the actual OD for cruising.

I have the original nose cone, the original front mount, original axle flanges,  the Bug@5speed kit including nose cone, rear mount, front mount, clutch guide tube, bus chromoly axle flanges, bus CV's (I have THING stubs too if that helps the decision) and the shifter (super nice piece).  All I was missing was a 911 shift rod.

Kit wasn't cheap, but it's not doing me any good sitting at home.  It's very unlikely I'll use it.  I'd be happy with $1800 for everything, but no one said I had to go away happy.

I can get you the code tonight (late tonight)

I could use a ride down to the coast for a doublecab rear seat and pedestal, there's beer or gas money involved :) I was planning to go fetch it myself but the weekend is starting to get out of control :(
