Selling a car into the US

I searched a couple of the old topics and nothing much... Anyone had experience in selling a car south of the boarder? Other than EPA and safety stuff anyone have recent experience in the process?

Classic or newer car? Classic is easy. Newer cars are a little more difficult. I was looking for a newer Golf for my daughter and got discouraged with the red tape. If the buyer is coming up to pick it up then they will have to deal with that.

The thing went south when it sold. They took it with a tow bar and were driving it in Seattle the same day so it couldn't have been too hard.

 All I did was type up a sale contract with the bottom portion of my ICBC reg.. and send them on their way. They towed it across. I think it would have been more involved if I had taken it down to them.

It is a lot easier for them than us i have traded cars with a friend from salem a couple times and he goes on his merry way along with zero inspections, and i always got stuck with the paper work bullshit and inspections.

In my past experiences i would'nt suggest driving it over and selling it, if they catch you doing that you could be in shit its like making money in there country, and with a recession there thats probably in the same class as murder1.
