72 Squareback with Fuel Injection. Original Engine
Vin 3622132855
Hasn't been registered since 86 so this is the cars first Aircare
Fails on CO for both the driving and the Idle
Driving=7.42 (Max is 4.22)
Idle=9.99 (Ma is 5.54)
As far as I know the air/fuel mixture is all electronically controlled.
Any thoughts on what needs to be changed or tested?
Thanks
Shane

First air care ........, don't you still get one year grace?
Other wise something tells me that system is not so ajustable.
I would suspect leaky injectors or head temp sensor or general tune up .
I have a bentley for that if you want to look at it.

I asked a couple of insurance places and they all told me the same thing, no
I'll probably just get the 3 months and drive it and try to fix it along the way.

I agree with Hans. You probably have leaking injectors. Alan knows of a guy who offers a mobile injector cleaning service. I think he charges $25 per.
BTW, your idle CO is not 9.99%. That's just the largest number they can measure. You've pegged it.
