Thanks to Steve (blarneyman) for the storage and Rob at AVR, my new winter 'beater' is home and ready to go for the season. Ended up having to do a little more work then I initially planned on, but Rob managed to source the parts late Friday afternoon and got them to me that night! He knew I was on a serious time crunch due to upcoming surgery, so a big huge thanks to Rob and AVR Import Specialties.
It's not quite a $500 Jetta...but pretty close.
Just need to do the provincial inspection and swap the plates/registration to B.C. After owning more Audi's then I can count, but taking a few years off, I'm pleasantly surprised to remember how nice the commute to work was today. Not being able to wrench for six months is going to kill me though. The suspension is too soft and the 10v 2.2L engine is completely gutless. My bug has more power! Once the spring comes, assuming I decide to keep it, I'll be tossing a set of coil-overs onto the car and doing at least a 10v turbo swap, 20v if I can find the right donor.

The bug will be washed and prepped for winter storage today. We'll make one last appearance on Thanksgiving (assuming I can find a chauffer) and then that's it until Spring!
