...with the new forum?

I know its a big sudden change and all but it was the best option.

Anyone found any glitches or things they dont understand?

How about some of the newer features?

...the forum is working fine for me. at first the layout of the topics was different than the last one, but it has since been changed and i think it works alot better (with the more frequently used forums closer to the top of the page).

big thanks again to chris, jason, geoff and anyone else involved in keeping this machine up & running.

change is good, donkey...

only weird thing i've seen is, when i click on the "my messages" button, i get a login pop-up that asks me for a user name/password for "SEXTOON MEMBERS AREA" (www.sextoon.com). i tried every combo of UN/P i could think of, but it didn't go through...

i swear, that's not my bag. not that there's anything wrong with that...

just wanted to mention that the banners look good & make it feel more like "home".

i also find it mildy amusing that a vintage acvw site is powered by a forum named "simple machines".

thanks for all the work guys, is there a way similar to the old setup, to see the unread posts since your last visit, without staying logged out then logging in again everytime you come to the site? I stay logged in and it never shows any unread posts since my last visit, although there always is.

this is the hardest part i'm having to adjust to.
i used to go to the bottom of the old site it top ten topics or something like that.
there is recent posts but i get scattered posts rather than threads.
slowly i'm getting a little more used to it though

At the top of the page beside your avatar are two links

Show unread posts since last visit.
Show new replies to your posts.

Those will show posts, if after clicking the first link and there are no results there is another link that allows you to read all unread posts.

This feature isn't working for me. I get no topics. But if I go through the forums, topics are marked as new.

Also as soon as I log in it shows me as logged in for 16 minutes so far.

Does that count?

Mee too, I went to this post being logged in, and tried to reply. I said I was a guest. I tried to log in and it would not let me. I had clicked on new posts and it said there weren't any. I stepped back again a few times, then re-logged in and now I can reply? There were at least 4 new posts today in classifieds that were new since I logged on last night, but it won't recognize that there is anything new.

I have been researching this and it may be a bug, however I just logged in and clicked on unread posts since last visit and it gave me several results.

Keep in mind that the link is for "unread posts" I suspect it means unread Topics, so if you have viewed it previously it is no longer unread.

I will keep looking into when I have time until it is resolved please be patient.

When I click the "unread posts since last visit" it sends me to the log-in page $:-\$

And It does recognize me and also says I've been logged in for 1 hr 16 minutes,on the home and the work computers........

It tracks your total time at the site.

For me the "unread posts" did not work on the old site or new. I use Safari at work and home or Firefox and get the same thing. Also I never get e-mails about replys posted and it's checked in my preferences.

No worries though I can live with it.

I was finding that no matter how many times I logged in at the top of the screen, that I remained a guest. I had to click on the Login button next to the area where you put your name and password, then type the info on the next screen. Then works fine.

I just noticed that there is no way to browse the sponsors of the site/ forum. Least not that I could find. The only site I was able to link to from the main forum page was the one currently showing in the banner. Is it possible to have a way to browse the banners? Just a thought.
