Looking For Paint Code
« on: January 04, 2008, 01:08:57 PM »
I am looking for the current and correct paint code for the seat frames for my '67 vert. thesamba shows a grey-black paint code L-43 which is not coming up on the suppliers sheet. The other paint codes from thesamba is SL-43 and the same thing.

Thanks for the help, Jake

You could try the Standox color match center, I think in Michigan.
IMHO, I'd mix the color by eye, black with a touch of white, ochre and blue.

after a few hours on the net and many phone calls. The paint code is a Glasurit # and is sold by White and Peters. I was also told that Glasurit is now made in the states and the colors don't exactly match the German made paint. I'll go and get some next Friday and we'll see.

Make sure it's in single stage, and it has flattener in it. BTW, the steering wheel, signal switch, column tube/clamp, shifter and e-brake all share the same color. Did you find a vert decklid?

I'm going with a wood steering wheel. The info I found said the wheels are the same color with no white. I am still looking for a correct rear decklid with rain tray.

The 67 vert had all black wheels with aluminum wheel covers same as the Ghia, unlike the sedan that had black and white wheels. I'm looking for a 67 vert lid W/O the tray.  ;)
