My Wcsd (no One Has Dial Up Anymore Right?
« on: June 26, 2006, 11:35:50 PM »
I had a long, but great weekend. I drove up to Port Townsend Wa on Wednesday night and got in late. Spent a couple of days with family and friends. The plan was to be on the 6:30am ferry to Whidbey Island and then up to Vancouver to meet up with the cruse to the beach on Marine Drive. Well the ferry was canceled and next one was at 9:30. We got on that one and were on our way. At the boarder we were welcomed by the friendly Canadian customs agents. After a hour or so with them we were headed to the beach. Got way lost a couple of times, thanks to Silas a ton for helping us with directions to get there and being patience while I was trying to dodge bumps and dip in the road.

We got to the BBQ fairly easy, other than going threw a couple of redish yellow lights and almost taking out a crosswalk full of people we were fine. I think for a while people were following me like I knew where I was going, I was wondering if they noticed the OR license plate.

Shane and his wife had a great setup and it was much appreciated. Great night meeting and talking with people. We left before dark to find out hotel. Guess what we got lost. We got directions from some nice girls at a Starbucks, after following them we ended up about 45 the wrong way from out hotel, thanks b%$#&$@! Got to the hotel bout 11:45, took about 2 hours.

Got to the show no problems, turned out to be a great day. I got to put a lot of faces with names. You could not ask for better weather, that

great pics chris. and congrats on the 2nd in early semi-custom and 1st in farthest travelled awards. it sounds like you & aaron had quite an adventure but that it was well worth it.

i have to say that there were a few others helping me relay directions to you over the phone so you could find us at the beach. so thanks to them too. without them i might have pulled a \"starbucks biatches\" and sent you in the wrong direction. B)

it was very cool hanging out with you and aaron and shooting the s#!t. the great canadian is next and that will be a load of fun.

cheers.

Hi Chris!

It was nice to meet you.

Hope to see you, and your car, again in August for the Great Canadian VW Show.

It's an insane world out there... and I'm proud to be part of it!

Nice to meet you Chris. Hope ypou made it home with less hassle than on the way up. I guess I take it for granted with the border. Living so close and crossing all the time. Never been hassled, even with a car full of kids that aren't mine. Hope to meet up again at the GCVWS.

Are you going to the Shoreline meet in Seattle? I think I asked over the weekend but can't remember.

I will not be going to Shoreline, but for sure to the GCVWS.

It was great to meet up with people I met last year and put new faces with names. I look forward to the GCVWS.
