I ran no bumpers on my super beetle for a year and a bit  like 4 years ago, no problems at all, i ran t-bars on my last car for almost a year also didnt have any problems. Should be okay, the only problem i had was someone backed into my rear fender where my bumper would have been, and put  a huge dent in it.

I have heard of lots owner's having problems with \" T- bars\" or no bumpers, Its really up to the cop.

By Vehicale inspection standards a bumper must run the width of the wheelbase?? Someone correct me if i am wrong here.

I run T-bars on my ghia no hassle yet but lots of vw owners always ask me if I have had problems because they have?

My 2 cents
Cheers

One part of the MVA states:
[The bumper] shall give substantially the same protection as the bumper originally installed by the maufacturer.

Spelling mistake is there!!

For many years I had a front bumper and no back bumper.  I was stopped dozens of times and never got any mention of the missing bumper.
