Flat Four/empi Steering Wheel Horn Wiring
« on: June 22, 2005, 10:30:00 AM »
I need some probaby basic help!,

i have purchased a Flat-four remake of the original Empi steering wheel.  I also purcahased the hub kit.  I am having difficulties figuring out the wiring though, as i have nothing to compare it to and this is the first steering wheel assembly for me.  SO i have a old style metal and a new style plastic steering wheel cancelling ring (that is required to acompany the flat-four hub kit), the plastic one has a wire hard mounted to it.  I also have the brown wire that is running through the steering shaft.  The obvious would be to hook the brown wire to the wire on the cancelling ring and just bolt everything up and off i go... but i am confused by a short wire, that has one ringed end and one quick connect terminal connector end, that is included in the steering wheel hub kit and also two prongs ( one marked as ground )that are on the actual horn button assembly.

Has anyone that has ever installed one of these wanna help by giving a quick response or wiring diagram?  please help by posting a response or emailing me at kaferfahrer@hotmail.com

thank-you
