Terry's Big Wheelie

Darren K just posted this on the CLF, Great info and cool link.

Big Big Wheelies!

Local Racer here from Vancouver Terry Hoogstins, who runs in the Super shifter bracket category at Mission Raceway was dialing in his new 89 stroke (in a T-1 Case)X 94. After he blew up his old faithfull 2332, this new combo is a DMS full cirle with an FK-89 and Big valve Comp Eliminators with a bunch of compression. He made 3 hits this day before getting knocked out, with the old combo the car 10.70'D almost every pass.(with a nice 6-8\" wheelie)
This new combo was just a little too much torque for his current set up also launching at under 6000 RPM didn't help much either. He ran a best on Sunday of a 10.60 @ 125 but his 1/8 miles were almost 4 Tenths quicker than his old motor combo than ran the 10.70's So once dialed in it looks like a 10.20-30 combo! On one launch all 4 wheels came off the ground, There may be Video footage posted some time soon. I wasn't there but apperently it was awesome. The bug launched upwards then out nice and straight all 3 passes. Terry is currently sitting 2nd in points and has been the Series Champion the last 3 years (against almost all V8's.)
Go Get em Dood!

omg.
Sometimes I get the feeling the whole world is against me, but deep down I know that's not true. Some smaller countries are neutral.

Imagine what it would have happened and looked like without the wheely bars,  it would have been quite the pan shot.

Hey Wayne!
Curious what all is involved in racing with you guys? Is it bracket classes or how does it work?

James (and others)
The BC Super Shifters is dead on simple. No electronics (delay boxes etc) foot release launch and manual shifting. Bracket racing with a standard tree, any time (ET) no upper or lower limits. We have been paying about $35.00 a day (reduced by the prize money portion)  at Mission and Eagle motorplex as well as $40.00 per race to the Super Shifters which goes into the prize money. You can race as a member ($50 per year) or as a non member BUT ,and it happened several times this year, if a non member wins he only recieves a portion of the winnings that a member would get. I think this year there were about 14 scheduled races but I believe next year there will probably be only 10 or 12. Most of the races are double headers which means two separate races- one on Saturday and one on Sunday. Every effort is made not to conflict with the other major \"brand\" races (i.e. bugin etc) SO please veryone come to one or all of the races and you'll meet a bunch of great guys with cars running from 8.50 up to 15.00 plus.
