if a car has one is it best to shy away from it or is this transmission reliable?

my buddy's mom had a 72 vert with a semi in it and we drove that car like f'n idiots and it held up like a tank!

You can also swap to a Std without much work, Some early ones had the clutch tube in them.

std trans, shift rod, shifter, pedal assembly and maaaybe a hydrolic clutch system if you dont have a clutch tube, did i miss anything?

Please don't throw out your old semi-auto trans. Even though the semi-auto trans is not desirable, there are a few useable parts inside. Give it to somebody to strip for these parts. Just adding my two cents....

No worries my friend I will find it a good home . The trans it's self is tough and still works well. the guy who owns the car wants it out.
