Beam Stops
« on: December 14, 2004, 07:18:46 PM »
I will be tearing into the front beam on the 56 this weekend to give it the old 3\" narrrower treatment. I will be putting in SAW style adjusters, and also will be running dropped K&L spindles. I have always cut off the torsion bump stops in my previous beams when I lowered the car in order to prevent it from interfering with the upward motion of the lower torsion arm. Since my car will be lower than stock (nothing ground scraping mind you, just traditional Cal Look stance) and I also plan on being able to pull the front wheels off the ground when racing, should I keep these in place, or lop 'em off? I'm kinda wondering the effects of either direction I take, and since it will be getting powdercoated, I only wanna do it once. What have some of you with K&L beams done on your hipo cars?
