70's Bus front doors ----- Free!
« on: March 11, 2016, 08:08:57 AM »
I picked these up from another member around 2- 3 years ago to fix my daughters 1975 bus that was hit by a pickup truck but I went a bit nuts and ended up with 4 doors and in the end I fixed her original door with some carefully applied 10lb sledgehammer and crowbar followed up with smaller hammers and dent tools and while to this day it still looks like crap, at least is closes and opens properly again.   This summer we hope to do all the bodywork on that bus, but I digress....

So first one who wants them can have them.  Both have all their glass and I think most or all of their parts and their hinges although a couple of the hinges still have the body side of the hinge attached I'm guessing because the bolts holding them on were seized.   The inside panels are ok but a little beaten up but I've seen far worse.   Anyways, the point is they are free so it's a heck of a deal for whoever wants them.   I just need them out of my yard because I plan to build a 3 bay garage this summer and moving everything around is getting to be a chore.   Oh yeah, I got these for my daughters 1975 bus but I cannot guarantee in any way that they were from a 1975 bus.  Heck, I cannot even remember exactly where I picked this pair up when I was grabbing several different sets of doors back then.

What else?  Oh yeah, they are white and I think have their original mirrors.  Why am I describing them like I'm trying to sell them on Craigslist?   Free.   Send me a message and pick them up this weekend and you too can explain to your wife why you need two more VW doors in your garage.   Ha ha!

Hi guys.  I'm always way too slow on this stuff.  They have been spoken for and the guy is hopefully picking them up in the next couple of days.    He contacted me on the weekend.   I always seem to want to figure they are not really gone until the get picked up but hopefully he will get them soon.

Thanks!
