Thank You! GCVWS
« on: August 24, 2015, 07:44:46 PM »
Thank you from Myself and the GCVWS Staff.

What a long and bumpy road! This year was a tough one, Securing the best location in the City of Vancouver turned out to be a difficult and complex but we did it!
Our Staff worked for months to secure this venue, a BIG "THANK YOU" to everyone who helped make this possible.

What a incredible turn out on Sunday! It's truley amazing how even with short notice how the community can pull together and make an epic event happen like this. We had over 400 cars show up for this years event from all over the world. You heard that right, every year we get folks from across Canada, USA even Mexico drive up to our little show. This year we had a couple from France load their Bus on a ship and drive from New York all the way across Canada to Vancouver to attend our event!!!! That's amazing!

I've been getting a lot of "Thank you" for putting the show on but it's really all the hard working Club members who deserve the Thanks. These Guy's and Gal's step up every year to make sure this event happens and we can all have some VW fun.
Darren K, Hanawa, Brian Waz, Mirko, Bruce McCrindle, Gavin Lee, Jaga Rai, Allan Uyeno, Cameron Shorey, Gary Economy, Brad Purser, Dave Hord, Rob Spofforth and all the others.

This year we had so much help from all the other clubs, Strictly German, OKVW, Dub Allstars, Kooteney VW, Bulli Boys, LGK and all the rest. (i know i'm forgetting some but my brain is fried today and i'll edit this ;-))
Thank you to all our sponsors, CIP1.com , Volkswagen Canada, Capilano VW, Regency VW, Gold Key VW, Point Blank, Hot VW's, Ultra VW's Landyachtz, AVR, IAP Performance Products, Bunnies & Bugs, WestJet, WCM, Wolfsburg West, EMPI, NIXON, Pertronix, and everyone else!

A special shout out to Bryan Railton of Volkswagen Canada for all his help leading upto the event and and during the day, Bryan did so much more than was asked.

Capilano Landscaping Shawn martin for building and donating the wicked Porsche inspired Corn hole game.

Dameyn Parr from Geek Squad for all your help and Photo's throughout the day.

Allan U of DVKK for taking some 2000 photo's during the weekend (more like 20,000)

Lisle from LDL Production services, This guy worked hard Sat and Sunday filming the events and helping everywhere.

Erich Riesen and the entire Yolo race team

Fire Fighters without borders canada and Vancouver Firefighters Charitable society.

WestJet Airlines for their generous donation of two tickets anywhere they fly! We had one happy winner!

The Thunderbugs, Big Thanks to everyone for coming out and making our reunion a success!

Strictly German for kicking ass at the pancake breakfast, You guys rock!

Dub Allstars for bringing out some crazy fast cars Friday night 10 sec Golf?!?!?!? Wow! as well as all your help judging and setting up the GCVWS

Zundfolge for so much, stock motor challenge,Sat cruise, Vintage Speed event, and everything Sunday.

Victoria VW Club, Great job on the valve cover race track. This was such a great addition to the event. We look forward to competing on it next year!

LGK, Thanks for hosting all the out of town campers at your BBQ and organizing a cruise to the Sunday event!

Concord pacific, West Park and City of Vancouver for allowing this massive event to take place in the best location Van City has to offer.

To all the clubs who made the trek from out of town and anyone who traveled to this event, Thank You!

I can't thank every one by name but you know who you are!

All we do is host the event, You guys make it happen!

The Silver Anniversary is just around the corner! we're turning 25 and have some big things to look forward to

(I will continue to edit this as my brain comes back to life ;-)   )

once again a great show put on by our loyal VW club members!  Is there any way to secure the venue for future events so there isn't the crap to deal with next year (and so on)?

As a newbie to the forum, and to my first show & shine, I just want to acknowledge all those involved for such a wonderful event.  Thank you for your dedication and commitment.  It was a remarkable event and very cool to see all the vw's.

My first big VW show (or car show of that size at all in fact). Thanks to everyone who helped put it on, a bunch of us came down from Powell River and had an awesome time there! Can't wait for next year, we hope to have a VW convoy coming down next summer!
