Hey ppl

just coming up with some ideas about new motor..

my motor i have now is 90.5X78.4..with B style pistions..stock length rods..and no spacers in the heads..or under the cyls..

im wanting to know what kinda stroke i can use with a \"b\" style piston and a 5.4\" long rod without making the motor wider..or is it even possible?

i understand that the longer stroke would change deck hight..if you used no spacers..and at a point..you would need to shim it up to get that deck hight back..

the only reason i ask is because of my turbo header..it fits the motor i have now like a glove..and has nice new ceramic coating on it...if i need to chop and weld and recoat..so be it..but i am wondering if it will fit my new idea..

Just checked the pin hight of the pistions im looking at...
i can get 1.380\" and 1.055\" pin hights..the 1.055 sounds like a cool idea..but the oil ring sits over the wrist pin bore..sounds like a bitch to set up..

what is your idea and what do you want too do [maybe super squish pistons?] if so i have a new 86b on 112 lobes ready to go.every case etc will have a different cylinder too crank centreline, that why when you build you need to pressemble and reassemble many times , also because of that you could have a differant deck on each side of the motor. width can be differant for the same displacment motor ever time depending on many variables as well.decide what you want to build and its main purpose ,calculate all needed engine data and measuremnts ,come up with a budget and proceed one step at a time,engine building /desighning/tunning for myself is the funnest most rewarding part of playing with vw's.if you want too bounce idea's with someone give me a call sometime

all i really want to say is the next motor is a 2332 no matter how wide it is..i will give ya call if you wanna talk HP..but i have a good idea on what im gonna go with now..crank rods heads pistions cyls..case..bearings...Cr ratio..everything is decided other then the cam..although i have a good idea of what cam im gonna run..how do i get ahold of your #?

the biggest thing im thinking about now is what size torsion bars im gonna run and the valving in the shocks..maybe you know about this kinda stuff?

basicly..this car is gonna be fast..with out a doubt..plan old fast.

nothing wrong on building speed,now we are talkin !!! sounds like you are past the deciding part and on to the getting all the parts to start a mock up,excellent!!.keep the rod ratio long.
looks like you are going turbo ,so you need heat and displacement too spool it up fast,does not sound like a problem.turbo cams are a very important part of a turbo car for sure.need too match heads/turbo and gears very well,i'm sure you can dig around and get some tips.
my only advise is-with the money you are investing use a j and r safegurd unit click here- jands electronics ultra safeguard
and a water/alcohol injection system too aid in combustion tempature.
