need dual carb advice for a type 3

How miserable would it be to run CB performance Weber 34 ict's (they don't have chokes) in the Okanagan in winter on a stock 1600 ? Im resurrecting 2 former owners "projects" square back and need to ditch the progressive Weber that has been hacked in, but have to choose between old and worn out (stock 32s) or new and no chokes (Webers)??? I also have to make my choice work with the auto trans. Can you buy new throttle shaft bushings for the 32's ? Any advise appreciated.

I ran 34 Webers on my Notchback. They were fine, although I wasn't driving much below about -3 or 4! If you keep it in a garage or put on a block heater I think you would be OK.

 Yes no chokes wouldn't bother me that much , just requires a little throttle input until its warm enough to idle on its own . Its the icing (ice build up inside the carbs) thats going to drive you nuts when the out side temps are around freezing and the air is moist .  You'll want to get as much hot air off the exhaust up to the air filters as possible(for winter). The stock type 3 air filter would be ideal for this. I'm thinking a hose from near an exhaust pipe right on to and over the snorkel .  100% hot air for winter only.

thanks for the replies. I was thinking about warm exhaust air but as far as I know the stock air cleaner set up doesn't work with the Webers ? I was hoping that with the super short manifolds that the carbs wouldn't ice up. Keep the advise coming :)
