Take a tour of how the old people lived. It gives perspective for what ever that is goog for.
Have a great trip man.

Cenote snorkeling, ancient ruins, Merida, Tulum, etc etc. Rent a car and explore. Last time I was there we drove over 1200KM around the Yucatan. Awesome vacation, have a great time.

Thanks guys... I am going for work so my free time is at a premium and I know they have already setup tours of the ruins and a scuba trip....
I've been to Mexico dozens of time on the west coast, is the east coast comparable for what to expect?

Cancun doesn't have much going for it. The city isn't that old. It was developed by the Government for a tourists' destination because of the nice beaches. So if you stay around town don't expect much. There's very little there. You will need to get out in the countryside to see anything worthwhile.
