I'd like to get my green 63 to pass aircare, it failed last year so I just got the 3 months and drove but now it needs to pass. I failed on Driving and Idle CO, what do I need to do to make it pass?

type in registration number 4634430, as the VIN option doesn't show the last test.

This shouldn't be too tough to get right.  The CO is a measure of how your car is set-up.  In this case rich on both the idle jet and the idle mixture settings.  I'm assuming a stock T3, so the first thing you need to do is check to see if the idle jets in the carb (s?) are the correct ones.  If they are larger than stock, wuh-hoo, there's the cause of the high CO on the dyno.  Remember, jets may be drilled.

If you dial the mixture screws in a bit, I think the driving CO will also drop, so make an adjustment there.

and fresh oil change wouldn't hurt either if you haven't already, including the air filter. Make sure the choke(s) is coming off completely.
stock dual carbs or single?

Its a single sidedraft. It is definately running rich, the smell of the exhaust tells me that. I just need to figure out how to lean it out without going to far.

Do What I did on my 58, I took it to Hans and he turned the idles till it was barely Idiling an dit passed.
Hans also live close to an Aircare. Or take it to Wagon Mike to put on the machine. I guess that is Hans now too

actually , not so much barely idling but turn it in until you can barely hear the idle start to drop off a bit. (needs a keen ear)
Thats what always got me through but now that I'm working and learning about analyzers and stuff I can see it's the only way to go although I'm sure much more costly than a trip through air care.

It's an NOS carb so the jets are 100% stock
