Emulsion Tubes

I saw this over at the CLF and found it quite interesting as I am running a F7 in my engine, looks like an F2 might work better:

This is what Ive found in reference to a IDA carb with 3rd progression hole,

F2 is crisp through the bottom and mid and keeps the fuel coming all the way through the rpm range. Seems to make the best hp/et as the motor is clean.

F7 works OK with IDA WITHOUT the 3rd hole but seems to flood it when you have it. Top end hp is comparable to the F2 but takes to long to clean up in my opinion from a street/racer standpoint. Ill experiment more with the F7 in my new car.

F11 is the best mph all around driveability in a IDA with the 3rd progression hole. If you run big rpm though it seems to lean the top end too much for me if you have a decent cam and rpms.

Ive also tried the F3 and F9

F3 is similar to the F11 but I didnt spend enough time to really tell the difference in the car.

F9 seems more top end friendly kinda similar to the F2. I went back to my old standby though. haha

That's what I thought - I was always under the impression that f7's were the best for my application....guess not.

great to see someone else playing with tuning , i love fine tuning ,i will have to figure out how to upload LMI data on screen so you can see what can be acomplished.a small caution  be careful about what you are putting in your carbs as emulsion tubes have a huge effect on things.you may just be thinking its making more power but actually its just getting leaner in the higher rpm .with round #2 on my motor , carb tuning has been a bit more challanging ,but that 's what makes the hobby fun.i just modified a old set of emulsion tubes to allow a quicker fuel volume into the secondary venture to cure a small lean out between 5200-6300 rpm.
my advise to anyone who really wants to make there car perform its best is by a data loger and put guess work to the side and work with real data.i've said it before you will be suprised at what you thought was correct.your car will love you for it.
oh ya by a jet guage and reamer set.test all your jets -i wasted 3/4 day   attemting to make things work ,but in the end was using bad numberd jets, they were way smaller than what they were supposed to be,goes to show anyone can put a label/size on anthing but its up to you to make sure its correct

anyone ever used f15's in 44idf's ?  read somewhere guy with a 2017 and very close cam & heads to mine stuck some in and cured stumble @ 2500 rpm range. he had an o2 meter set up and said it was creating an over rich condition at that certain rpm. I have f11's and have the same hesitation.  any input?

James, wanna try some F14s?  That tube came factory equipped on Porsche 904s.  The 904 had 46 IDAs, mounted to a 2 liter flat four that made 180hp.  Sound familiar?
