FS: 1970 bay window deluxe
« on: June 11, 2017, 01:27:19 PM »
Lotus white with gala red interior low light bay window. 9 passenger non walk thru (very uncommon)Deluxe. Bought new in Regina Sask and technically I'm the third owner. Parked in early to mid eighties.

Bus is very complete less the middle seat. Has original interior in very nice shape. Only upper corner worn on drivers back rest. Has had an exterior repaint at one time. Bus is fairly solid for a Canadian bus. Floors, out riggers, cross members and 90% of the dog legs are rock solid. Will need inner and outer rockers as well as patches to dog legs behind bumper steps. Also needs the long and short side panels fixed due to rust at seam where the rear tubs weld in.
VW reman single port 1600 that runs but has a rod knock and only firing on 3 cylinders due to a seized exhaust valve on #3. (Likely why it was parked in the early 80's)
Moves under its own power and seems to shift through all the gears fine. Brakes work as well as to be expected for sitting this long.
Overall a very good basis for an early low light project. Get the mechanical up to par and have a rad patina bus, or with a few repair panels do a full exterior resto.
$5500 obo
