FS: Rear and middle seats from 1979 Kombi/Transporter
« on: October 12, 2016, 06:10:38 AM »
These are from a bus I picked up earlier this year and I won't be using them.   As far as I know, they are original to that bus (I removed them myself).   The rear 3-seater bench is in decent shape with good surfaces except the very front bottom where I imagine someone was moving stuff on the floor and gouged it a couple times (see pics) but the actual seats themselves (where you sit on and lean against) are in very good condition from what I can tell.   The PO put a string along the back (behind the bench) to pull to activate the release clips on both sides to lay the seat flat.

The middle 2-seater bench is in extremely good condition with no damage that I have seen.   Likely when the PO was moving stuff, they removed this seat so it looks like it's had a pretty easy-going life.

Note both seats are the same colour: the pix look different because one outside in overcast light and one inside the bus using a flash.

Anyways, I don't need them so if you could use them, how about $250 for the pair?   Not that it's a reasonable comparison, but that's wayyyy less than people are selling them for on Samba and I'd just like them to go to someone who can use them.    Pick up in Fort Langley.

And yeah, I've done zero cleaning to them so they would certainly clean up 100x nicer with a little soap and scrubbing.    Note again on the picture of the longer back bench seat if you look at the lower part of the very front (the part closest to the floor), you can see the small rips/holes in a few places.   The seat surfaces are good as far as I know.   No damage that I've seen at all to the two-seater middle bench.

Just to clarify the colour of these seats as I have received a couple of questions.   Thanks to my amazing Blackberry phone (yes, that's right) camera and one bench being inside the bus and one outside, the colours look very different as the camera made interesting decisions about the white balance settings.    Both seats are the exact same colour and that colour is a very light grey.

Ok the middle shorter bench seat is off to it's new happy home in a super-cool black bus!     Now I just have the rear 3-seater bench seat left.  It's not in as perfect shape as the shorter bench seat and probably not quite as rare but I either sell it or it becomes my new couch my man-cave garage (which I have not built yet).   So here ya go.  I've put it on Craigslist for $75 but cuz we are all VW brothers here on this site, anyone wants it for $50 just let me know.    It needs a home and to get back on the road again!

Thanks!
