The "O" n North Van....

One of the few holes I missed playing in bands at as a teen, but at the Jan Arden concert she commented how she used to play there in the 80's. I do remember it being demolished... An era gone by ;)

If we got kicked out of other bars (being under age) we could always count on being served the the O! The waiters were older and only cared about "one for yourself".

i'm pretty out of the loop these days, and i know that there are still a few venues out there...but the live music landscape sure has changed a lot in the last little while. some of the holes i remember playing in that are no longer around...the columbia, the brickyard, route 66, the niagara, the marine club, the starfish room...and a few others that i never played at but used to frequent...the town pump, dicks on dicks...probably lots of others too that i missed out on...era gone by for sure but still lots of fun places to go too!!  :cool:

Silas, you sure dug up some old memories of the rock star days!! I played all of those rooms... I sure miss playing shows but oh, how I don't miss moving me drums around. Multiple times a night.... often after the singer/trumpet player/even the bass player has taken some fine young lady home for 'company'!!
