^ yup.

i'd also be kicking down the door of the house right there and using garden hoses.  I'm no fireman, but those dude sure didn't look too hurried to put it out.  Could have saved more than 1/2 the car if they started right away.

do they have magnesium blocks or something?

I once heard some one say that "Anyone who drives a classic car around without a fire extinguisher is a moron!" That has stuck with me for years! I always try to have one in any VW that I drive as they have had a bit of a reputation for igniting as well!
