Oil filter pump?

I would like to add an oil filter to my K series engine. Am i right in thinking i can just buy a cip1 full flow oil filter pump and just bolt it on?  Have been checking out many articles about drilling and tapping for a full flow system but hoping it will not be necessary?

drilling would be the best option.keep a lot of grease on the tap and drill,i also pull the oil pump to catch any little bits that were missed and clean the galley with a pipe cleaner .the pump filter combo has the oil going in and out the same hole. very restrictive.also you may have exhaust fit problems.

You saw that full flow oil pump setup on my motor on the weekend, 6 years at the track and no problems.

Thanks for your info. I had heard the filter pump combo can restrict flow, although it is for a stock application, it probably would't affect to much? I probably will drill and tap as i will be tearing down the motor soon. Another thing to add to the long list of tools :-|
