36 hp for the 54
« on: December 06, 2010, 10:24:46 PM »
Just thought I'd share this with ya all.
Got this back from Jimmy last week and popped it in tonite. Jimmy did a real nice job and went the extra mile on it for me....Thanks!
I call it rebuilt...not restored, which will be the theme for this car!

Nice!  I have a Jimmy engine too, and I like your theme!  "Rebuilt" - I'm going to use it.    :D

i dont know gerry...it's hard to tell from that crappy cell phone pic...but that looks like a fuel filter in your engine compartment, and that is not safe. i know a guy who has a brother that had an uncle that had a 71 super beetle with a fuel filter in the engine bay and he didnt even use any hose clamps (just like your not using any...tisktisk)...and one day on a trip...poof...thing burned up...real good...the uncle too...tragic...i'd talk to your engine builder & see if it's ok if you remove that thing cause that's danger all rolled up into a $1.19 worth of plastic...!

j/k buddy!! :P

the motor looks great and i'm sure it'll provide you with countless trouble free cruising good times! and even tho i've only seen the sneak peak pics of the car...it is one car that i am truly looking forward to seeing this season!! lovin the theme too...fits perfect with that oval!

what did you have to do to it?  It turned over nice and easy by hand so I doubt it needed anything.  Nice to see it in place.
