Yeah, me too...my Beetle is in one photo as well.  Kinda makes up for the long trip to Mission Raceway, only for the drags to be cancelled ;)

Got it today metrotown chapters . Now I don't want to knock Hot VW's, however I think the photos could have been better. There is no pan shot of the Coquitlam show . The photo is taken with more trees than cars . Looks like we all parked in a forest . There is no photo of how big the show was . Unlike the old shows where you see hundreds of cars all over the parking area . Boston Pizza shows a small parking lot with a few cars crammed in . No shots or very little of the cars near the Canadian Tire . What about the night shots ? Think that show lasted to 11pm . It was a massive VW weekend with a lot of work put in by the hard working VW crew. The show photos don't overall reflect the size of the event . If you look at the old issue maybe you'd agree . Just my 2 cents . Ray  :'(

The reason there was no pan shot of the show was normally we get a skylift donated to us for the show but this year  the person who brings it decided not to show up for the event so we had to use the photos we could get

i looked at last years coverage in hotvws and there really isnt any difference between the 2 besides the shot from the skylift (like bruce said, due to unfortunate circumstances that didnt happen this year). they seem to follow the same recipe when it comes time for coverage...they get the shots of some cars in the show, the spark plug & pie eating contests, the kids events, the bug stuff or engine blow, the cruise-in, the pancake breakfast, drag racing (if it happened :(), etc...

the only way i could see improvement is if they included more photos from some of the locals. that would bring a different perspective to the table. ;)

other than that, i think we're lucky to get the coverage. ultravws covered the gcvws once a few years ago but hasnt since...so...we work with what we get!

The overpass walking thing was cool at the previous location. I've got a lot better shots at previous years.
