it has a base and the bandsaw part swivels to cut vertically or horizontally. It has a removable base that you use when cutting vertically. Looks like this one.

if you want it speak up. I have a few others off of Craigslist trying to set up an appointment to see it. I would rather sell it to someone I know who can use it.
