I've been using the GB227A for many years. Infact I've ordered a new one for a spare since they seem to crap out from time to time (broken spring regardless of never touching the grounding wire)

When I feel she's getting hot I'll pull this \"tool\" outa my glove box. The GB227A will be the visual indicator (which virtually NEVER goes on) and for a piece of mind I'll use my high tech precision testing device to double check

Its aprox 12\" vs the typical candy thermometer.
Keep it simple stupid seems to be a better approach vs a clutter of VDO guages. Thats just my 2 bits.
