what kinda current do they put out
I`ve got four 55 watt drivin lamps on my buggy and the genny doesn`t seem to keep up when runnin them and the battery voltage gets down
-
A \"generator\"(not alternator) is rated at 30 amps , so I think it works like this..... 30 amps x 12 volts = 360 watts( if it's working perfectly)
your four 55 watt lights = 220 watts plus anything else you have on..... wipers , stereo , ignition , stock head lights and running lights etc etc
You could be close to the edge.
I'm not 100% sure this the correct calculation , someone correct me if I'm wrong.

well all I'm running is the four lights and the ignition had a stereo in there but taken out so yeah if you are right and my genny is gettin weak then thats why my battery gets weak when runnin the lights thanks

Your calculations are correct. Keep in mind that most likely the \"30A\" rating on the gen is Peak output. That would be flat out going hard. Now you slow down and the rev's go down... you won't be getting Max rating anymore.

time to pick up an alternator from airspeed while you still can...
