Seems like my life is a never ending saga. For those of you that know Murray (Mur's Movin), he is a friend of mine that has moved a few vehicles for me and some ASF members in the past. He is a top notch dood and I emailed to say hi and his daughter replied that he and KArl (employee/ friend) had been in a wreck with the big rig outside of Kamloops.
I'll cut and paste the email below. Sounds like Karl got the worste of it and knowing Murray, he is beating himself up right now. :(
Not exactly sure what happened, dad can't remember anything from Merrit
onwards. It is all starting to slowly come back to him, but from the looks
of it, he dozed off. The truck is in about 40 pieces down the side of the
hill and they landed on some pretty sharp rocks.
They found Karl at the top of the hill(thrown from the truck) and dad was
down at the bottom right beside the truck.
Dad has bruised lungs, some broken ribs, a fractured ankle and shoulder
blade, and about 30% road rash. Karl is still in ICU and they're keeping
him in a Coma until his ribs have healed and he can breath without
intubation. He had a small cut on his liver, a broken pelvis, hand and
leg, as well as bruised lungs.
They both have minor head injuries(just cuts, nothing else in there to
injure :P )
They were a little worried that Karl might have had a brain injury but
they took him out of the coma for a little while and he responded to some
small cues so they're pretty sure he's fine now, just needs to let his
body rest.
Going by tomorrow on my ride home.

here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

Wow, that really sucks.
Any chance this was about 1.5/2 weeks ago just outside of Merrit? I may of seen the aftermath of it.

Not too sure. Truck was a teal green/ blue Volvo rig with a blue/ grey trailer on the back. Trailer would have a picture of an orange moving truck with a guy coming out the window giving a thumbs up. I thought this happened closer to Kamloops but don't know for sure.
-
I saw a semi down the embankment outside of Kamloops when I came down to race on Sept 22. The trailer was on top of the rig with the rig jacknifed under it. Tow trucks were just trying to clean it up then.
Hope he can recover without many problems.

This is awful news! I had the chance to meet Murray and Karl a few times and they are the nicest, hard working guys willing to do anything for you. I pray that they will make a full recovery.

All the best to both If you need a place to crash in kamloops drop me a note

Just got an email from Jessa (Murray's daughter) I will paste it below for those interested
Hey Jason,
Dad's back in Salmon Arm, he was released on Wednesday morning. He had a few rough days at home but now he's finally finding some comfy ways to sleep in his chair so he's feeling alot better.
Mike Picul and Chuck have looked at the scene and examined the front axle and they determined it was the \"steering axle\"??? I think that's what they said I guess it had been fractured and was pretty much ready to go anytime. We haven't heard from ICBC what they think it is, but I'm sure we'll hear soon, might have to fight it, depending on what they say happened.
Karl is still in ICU, he's had an epidural put in so they can take him off his other drugs and so now he's trying to wake up on his own so they can take out his breathing tube.
I'll tell my dad you're planning on coming in next weekend.
Talk to ya soon.
Jessa
P.S. Any bites on your house yet?
