just curious as to what your favourite tool stores are?
mine, in most to least favourite, are...
1 - KMS Tools in coquitlam. extremely friendly, helpfull and knowledgable staff. large assortment of all types of tools (autobody, mechanical, welding, air, compressors, wood, etc). huge showroom where you can see, feel and compare each tool to another, a real hands on type deal. competitive prices. second hand tool-for-sale area. weekend classes on things like welding, woodworking, etc... A++
2 - Acklands Grainger 150 W. 4th ave Vancouver. extremely local (for me, anyway, i'm about 8 blocks away). free 400+ page catalogue with pics, prices and descriptions of tools. friendly, helpfull staff. competitive prices. B+
3 - The Home Depot. cheap and fairly local. semi knowledgable staff. a place that i will go to buy the things that i need now but dont neccesarly need to last that long. (you know what i mean?). C
4 - Crappy (canadian) Tire. for those desperate, really need a tool/part and alls i gots is a blue one and a couple-a gold ones. ($7). the one on 7th and cambie just closed for reno's and the re-opening will be sometime in march. some three storey monstrosity. oh well, it'll be close. C-
please add your input and let us all know about where the quality tools and killer deals are.

I like Princess Auto, the quality sure ain't there in most the tools but man is the price right. I just picked up a 32oz ball pein hammer today for $4.88. how can you go wrong, for that price it just needs to work for 1 or 2 jobs.
I too like KMS, they got lots of goodies in there.
