Title: Help Fix My Parents Driveway!

Finally have gotten my oil leakers/ parts car away from the parental's compound. However now their once former pretty looking driveway is oil stained. Anybody have a idea how to get some of those deeper stains out?

the trace amounts of amonia will burn the oil stains out.

Post by: red snapper on September 05, 2006, 09:23:01 AM: At work we use this stuff called \"bold\" very toxic. It is used at the gas pumps when they are filling up the transit buses when there is spillage. All you do is pour some on the ground and use a old broom to mix it in then hose it off.

I AGRREE Muratic acid is what brick layers use to clean blocks etc. Home Depot sells a product a little more enviro friendly called concrete etcher. Use either with caution.

Post by: blarneyman on September 05, 2006, 06:41:45 PM: I would give the Coke a try before spending a bunch of money on Muratic acid. I used to work at a garage (almost 30 years ago) that's what we used. Soak it down, let it sit for an hour soak it down again and scrub with a stiff broom. Then you can just spray it down the storm drain. No harm done like the acid (at least not much). Well, maybe if the fish go to the dentist :P

Post by: dods1600 on September 05, 2006, 10:23:51 PM: This is expensive but gasoline works to get oil stains off of concrete, that's how i cleaned the shop i work in when it was blessed with a VW oil stain.
