For those who know or who have had dealings with Lou the mechanic here on the north shore, he had an accident in April where a VR6 engine fell on him while on the hoist. Besides shoulder, rib and ankle problems, he cracked a vertabrae in his back and is only now able to get up and around with minimal pain. This gentleman is one of the truly great vw persons I have ever met. He cares about his work and what his customers problems are and deals with each person on an individual basis. For anyone trying to call the shop, the mailbox is full and he says he doesn't have the heart to start calling people as it makes him feel worse. He really cares about people. I'll keep you up to date on his progress as I will try and get him out for a beer one night, and out of his wifes hair!

Lou is a true gentleman. Not sure if he remembers me but he did me a huge favour by tearing down my old 2110cc and fixing all the mistakes I'd made. That motor is still in my old car and running strong.....outside that.....he didn't charge me much and gave me a free cam because he didn't like my engle 125...which now sits on the beer fridge in my garage. Say hi for me and get better!

Thanks for the update on Lou. I wasn't aware of his condition until I ran into someone at the Vintage Meet last weekend. He is one of the finest fellows I have ever met and a true old world craftsman.
He has serviced my VW's for a few years until last year when we moved over to the Island.
If you do see him, please give him my best.
