Title: What Fan Housing Is Best?
Post by: egspot on July 17, 2006, 12:24:36 PM

If you were building a 2L engine, would you use the old style fan housing or the new dog house style?

I had a heck of a time removing my 1600 DP from my 64 (dog house with alternator). I am therefore, wondering if I can use smaller fan housing without compromising the cooling on a planned 2L engine for my 66.

Will you be running a remote cooler?

I am not familiar with them but I would if it makes sense. What are the pros and cons?

Fan housings are narrower or skinnier but not shorter, don't expect another style to make engine changes much easier. The engine JUST fits and that's the way it was designed.
